are expecting 108 cruise ships to visit Halifax.

Cunard Lines’ Queen Mary 2, and Queen Elizabeth 2 are both scheduled to
visit Halifax in the Fall. The Queen Mary 2 is currently the largest ship in
the world.
· The
cruise season will begin on May 16 ending in late October.
· 2005
was a milestone for Halifax as it marks the city's silver anniversary with
the cruise industry. It was 25 years ago that the first passenger cruise
ships from Carnival Cruise Line and Cunard Line began calling Halifax
· Passengers
are greeted by the skirl of bagpipes as the 78th Highlanders perform the
traditional dockside greeting that won Halifax the "Best Port Welcome" award
from Dreamworld Cruise Destination Magazine and "Most Receptive Port" award
at the Canada-New England Cruise Symposium Marketing Awards in 2002
· The
Seawall offers more than 2,000 feet (611 metres) of continuous berth space.
Passengers enjoy the convenience of moving direct from ship-to-shore
· Covered
hydraulic gangways lead directly into the 48,000-square-foot Cruise
Pavilion, where a vendors’ court, phones, taxis and tour buses are at
passengers’ disposal
· Pier
21 National Historic Site, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, the Halifax
Citadel, shopping, dining and great entertainment are just a short stroll
away via the picturesque Harbourwalk
